AI can explain anything. Make it show its work.
The useful question is not whether an AI can produce a convincing explanation. The useful question is whether the explanation remains answerable to the evidence that supports it.
“Show your work” means more than citations.
A link attached to an answer is not enough if the system never shows which observation came from which source, how conflicting evidence was reconciled, what alternative explanations were considered, how uncertainty affected the conclusion, or what new evidence would change it.
