Audience intelligence
More reach is not automatically a stronger audience.
Audience quality is a pattern across multiple signals, not a universal score. WITNESS examines how people who receive the work behave, how that behavior changes over time, and whether source mix explains the change.
Useful dimensions
Returning behavior
Does the audience come back, or is performance dominated by one-time exposure?
Completion and depth
Do recipients consume more or less of the work after receiving it?
Engagement quality
Which meaningful actions move with or against raw reach?
Source mix
Did the audience composition change because discovery, recommendations, search, followers, or another source shifted?
Baseline
Is the current audience pattern actually unusual for this creator, format, release, or lifecycle stage?
Cross-platform consistency
Do similar audience-quality changes appear in more than one independent signal environment?
A smaller audience can be stronger.
If total reach contracts while returning behavior and completion improve, the evidence may indicate that distribution narrowed while the audience that remained became more engaged. WITNESS preserves that distinction so volume does not automatically dominate interpretation.
A larger audience can be weaker.
A traffic surge can increase views while completion or returning behavior declines. That does not make the traffic worthless; it means the Finding should distinguish acquisition volume from audience depth.
